The Unhoneymooners (2019)

by Christina Lauren

A best man and maid of honor reluctantly travel to Hawaii together on a free honeymoon vacation. This comical novel is my go-to recommendation for contemporary romance fans. - Allison, Hoffman Estates Branch

The Do-over (2022)

by Lynn Painter

After having the WORST Valentine's Day ever that included a car accident and catching her boyfriend cheating on her, Emilie is forced to relive the day over and over again. This teen romance (yes, there is a love interest driving the car that Emilie crashes into) is the perfect choice for you to read this Groundhog's Day Valentine's Day. - Allison, Youth Services

The Hating Game (2022)

by Vertical Entertainment

This movie adaptation of the novel by Sally Rooney is filled with romance and comedy. Lucy and Joshua's companies merge together making them new co-workers, and both are filled with the need to one-up each other. But as they keep getting pushed into each others lives, this workplace hate-ship may grow into something much deeper. Check out both the book and the movie adaptation! - Vana, Fiction, Movies and Music

The Summer Skies (2023)

by Jenny Colgan

Heartwarming, adventurous and charming. I liked the main woman character being a pilot. Sounds like a dream vacation island. - Cheryl, Circulation

Romeo + Juliet (2003)

by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation

Is it possible to name a more iconic couple than Romeo and Juliet? It’s a tale of young love wrapped up in one of the most famous family feuds of all time. In director Baz Luhrmann’s contemporary take, he’s cast the legendary Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes in the titular roles and kept the classic Shakespearean dialogue... but he’s moved the action to the fair land of Verona Beach, circa 1996. Fast-paced, visually modern and at times, a little jarring, you’ll have to buckle up and hold on for the wild ride of the two star-crossed lovers that is unlike any other retelling of the timeless tragedy. - Monica, Fiction, Movies and Music

The Wedding Planner (2001)

by Columbia Pictures

The Wedding Planner is one of my favorite romcoms! Jennifer Lopez plays Mary Fiore, San Francisco's most successful wedding planner. Matthew McConaughey portrays Steve Edison. I love the chemistry and verbal repartee between these two - it's such a fun flick! - Janet, Fiction, Movies and Music

Dead Collections (2022)

by Isaac R Fellman

An incredibly weird and wonderful journey between a vampire and the widow of a famous screenwriter. For lovers of books, archives, and anything that thrives despite itself. - Rachel, Access Services

The Fastest Way to Fall (2021)

by Denise Williams

A cute and awkward story about a quirky, plus-sized journalist who goes undercover as a client for a personal training service. Williams addresses body image, self worth, and the awkwardness of working with a personal trainer for the first time, while showing that love transcends all of the inadequacies that we might feel about ourselves whether they be mental or physical. - Jennifer, Fiction, Movies and Music

The Bride Test (2019)

by Helen Hoang

The Kiss Quotient series' second standalone book tells the story of Esme Tran, a single mom living in Vietnam, and her offer to come to American to marry Khai Diem, a man who has autism and is convinced he cannot love. While Esme seems to disrupt ever part of Khai's routine, the two become closer together and develop a connection that Khai believed was impossible. This is one of my favorite books - this whole series is wonderful. Highly recommend! - Vana, Fiction, Movies and Music

Ghost (2007)

by Paramount Pictures Corporation

I find Ghost to be a moving story of love traumatically cut short. This tearjerker is filled with romance and drama, with some added comedic relief, as Sam attempts to keep Molly safe and ultimately avenge his own death. Ghost is an Academy Award winner for best screenplay and a best supporting actress win for Whoopi Goldberg; the movie was a box office hit back in 1990. - Sara, Fiction, Movies and Music
